Hi, I'm Hien — and I have a nail problem.
No seriously. Ask anyone who knows me. My friends used to joke that I spent more time doing my nails than sleeping. They weren't totally wrong 😅
I grew up in Vietnam, where getting your nails done at a fancy salon was kind of a big deal — something you saved up for, something special. When I moved to the US, I saw how normal it was for girls here to just... go get their nails done whenever they wanted. Every two weeks. Without thinking twice.
But I also saw how much money and time that took. $60, $80, sometimes more. Two hours in a chair. Then two weeks later, you do it all over again.
So I started doing my own.
It started at a tiny table in my apartment.
Just me, some gel, a lamp, and way too many YouTube videos. I wasn't great at first — I won't lie. But I kept going because I loved it. I loved the quiet of it. The focus. The way a fresh set of nails could completely change how you feel about yourself.
Then my friends started asking me to make sets for them. Then their friends. Then strangers on the internet.
And somewhere in between all of that — Always That Girl was born. 🍒
So what is Always That Girl?
It's a small, handmade press-on nail shop. Just me, working from home, making every single set by hand.
No factory. No mass production. Just one person who genuinely loves nail art and wants you to have something beautiful — without the salon price tag or the two-hour wait.
Every set I make is painted by hand. I pick the designs, mix the colors, add the charms, and check every nail before it goes out. It takes time, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Why press-ons?
Because they changed my life, honestly.
I know that sounds dramatic. But when you're someone who loves having beautiful nails — press-ons give you freedom. You can switch up your look whenever you want. You can wear something bold for a wedding and something soft the next week. You can take them off when you need to, put them back on when you want to.
And when they're made well — with good materials, a proper fit, real attention to detail — they look just as good as anything you'd get at a salon. Sometimes better.
That's what I'm trying to give you with every set I make.
What makes Always That Girl different?
Honestly? It's just me caring a lot.
I care about the fit — which is why I offer XS to L sizing and custom sizing too, because nails that don't fit right will never look right.
I care about the quality — which is why I only use materials I would put on my own hands.
I care about the design — which is why every set is thought through, not just thrown together.
And I care about you — which is why I'm always just a message away if something isn't right or if you need help finding your size.
This isn't a big brand. It's just me, doing something I love, hoping you love it too.
